Subsequent to direction from Council on November 1st, the Town will shortly hire security services to address non-compliance challenges with AHS COVID-19 regulations at the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre. For the next two weeks at least, the arena will remain a non-Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) facility for youth activities and events, meaning that the public must comply with all existing required masking and food and drink prohibitions. The additional services are being acquired to ensure that these provincial regulations are taken seriously by all facility users and spectators, the burden of compliance no longer falling onto our operational staff. We encourage users to take this time to observe the restrictions in the facility so that the next likely step, REP introduction at the main door for all activities, remains one that Town need not take at this time.
