[ARCHIVED] Water Restriction Notice

Due to damages from the June 19th flood to the Mosquito Creek Pumping Station, we are currently experiencing restrictions on the amount of water we can draw from the creek in a 24 hour period. At this time, we are drawing enough water to meet our daily needs, but it is prudent that the Town implement Level I water restrictions immediately until further notice, to ensure the availability of water should an extraordinary situation occur. We are working diligently to rectify the situation. We would like to thank-you in advance for your co-operation and patience.

All outdoor water use is prohibited (eg: washing cars, sidewalks, pads, exteriors of buildings and lawns. Bulk water sales are suspended.

Flowerbeds and vegetable gardens may be watered by hand, at any time, using a watering can or a hose with a nozzle with a trigger shut off to restrict water flow.

Requests for site and condition specific watering by commercial or industrial operations using metered hand watering or continually monitored systems for the establishment and protection of new plant material, including trees, may be approved by the Town of Nanton Peace Officer or CAO. – Bylaw # 1202/09, Schedule “C”
