[ARCHIVED] Completion of LED Lighting Upgrade at THRC

thrc led light upgrade

The Town of Nanton is excited to announce the completion of the LED Lighting upgrade at the Tom Hornecker Recreation Center. All lighting and fixtures within the recreation center have been updated to low wattage LED with an advanced control system. This will mean better lighting and aesthetics, lower operating costs, and reduced GHG emissions.

As part of the Town’s commitment to long term sustainability, this project was highlighted as a way to help improve the energy efficiency of the recreation center. Working with the Municipal Climate Change Action Center and one of their program allies the Town was able to secure a large incentive (approximately $75,000) which will cover almost 75% of the project costs.

The LED lighting upgrade is expected to save the Town $12,907 on an annual basis, and energy savings of 69,112 kWh are expected. Overall a very worthwhile project that will show benefits for many years to come.
