[ARCHIVED] Community Futures Board Members Needed

Community Futures

Community Futures Highwood is currently seeking a member-at-large from the Town of Nanton to join the Board of Directors.  The appointed individual will also serve on the Investment Review Committee (IRC).

Board members are asked to take a keen interest in and develop a sound knowledge of the economic, tourism and social needs of their region and to work on behalf of regional economic development and job creation initiatives.

Each appointee is appointed by a motion in Council for an initial 3 year appointment.

There are normally five (5) to six (6) full board meetings each year. These are typically held on the third or fourth Thursday of specified months, in Okotoks at 6:00pm, except for the Annual General Meeting.

The IRC meets as required within 10 days of staff having received all the information required regarding individual applications.  The IRC meets either at 8:15am for such meetings or at 5:00pm. Such meetings last between 45 minutes and 1 hour and take place at the Community Futures Office in Okotoks.

Please see the detailed job descriptions for the Board of Directors and the Investment Review Committee positions.  Details related to volunteer member eligibility, responsibilities, terms of reference and application process can be found at here.
