[ARCHIVED] Recycling Depot New Hours

new hours image

Thursday,        8:00 am to 4:00 pm      Commercial cardboard 12:00 to 4:00 pm

Friday,            12:00 pm to 4:00 pm      Commercial cardboard 12:00 to 4:00 pm

Saturday,       12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Monday,           4:00 pm to 8:00 pm    (Tuesday on Statutory Holidays)

The co-mingled recycling options, grass, and branch drop off, electronics, and tire collection will be available at these times.  The Depot is unable to accept paint, oil or chemicals for disposal.   It is regretful that abuse of the self-serve facility has forced the Town to only open the facility on reduced hours to save costs.  The depot will be manned to assist visitors with using the facility appropriately.

Commercial businesses with large cardboard volumes are asked to present your cardboard at the Recycling Depot at the hours shown above in order that it can be baled as it is taken off the truck.  The center will not be accepting large volumes at other times and will turn away users with excessive volumes.   We invite businesses to consider setting a weekly appointment to ensure you are served in a timely manner.

In 2017 the Town of Nanton initiated curbside recycling for residential properties.  The depot was converted to a self-service facility for co-mingled recyclables, cardboard, grass, branches, tires, and electronics. Commercial businesses who were using the depot generate large volumes of cardboard were asked to find an alternative option due to the cost of providing this service.  It was felt this model would provide a sustainable level of service.
