The Town of Nanton organizes an annual spring clean-up to help keep our Town clean and create awareness about the environment and improving communities through collaboration and volunteerism.
For 2016, we have registered with Pitch-In Week Canada again, along with almost 1,700 communities across the country. Through this program, we will receive supplies for our Clean Up Day and recognition through Pitch-In Canada. This program is dedicated to inspire communities, help clean and restore communities and encourage the three R’s; reduce, recycle, reuse.
This year, we will invite all community organizations and individuals to participate in the Clean Up day on April 20th. The Town will provide garbage bags, latex-free gloves and a map with garbage drop-off points to all volunteers and participants.
Town staff will help by picking up all the garbage bags from the drop off points, as well as driving through town and providing support to the volunteers where needed (ie. Big items, full bags, etc.).
The second part of this annual program is the large disposal bins. The Town offers this service to help residents get rid of their unwanted junk (ie. Yard waste, old furniture, yard junk, etc.). This year’s bins have been ordered. They will be placed at the Recycle Depot on April 21 to 23. However, the program is done once all bins are full.
