It has been noticed many residents are not complying with the water restriction. At this time, we have not enacted enforcement through fines. Please be advised that enforcement will be commencing soon, with fines ranging from $100 to $800 per incident.
Alberta Environment has informed us that IF drought-like conditions continue, the flows on Mosquito Creek may become severely limited, which will impact our ability to continue to draw water from the creek.
The Town needs to fill the reservoir to capacity, as quickly as possible, in the event that Alberta Environment does impose these restrictions. Once the reservoir is filled to capacity, we hope to lift the water restrictions in place. Based upon the water usage at this time, it is estimated the reservoir will be filled within 21 days.
The Town is strongly encourages residents and business owners to help conserve water. If you have new grass or trees, the Town can provide a special watering permit to help establish the new vegetation.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you everyone for your understanding and your contributions to this effort.
