Finances

The Town of Nanton is committed to providing effective services and remain fiscally responsible, as outlined in the Nanton 2021 strategic objectives. Council and Administration strive to achieve this by capitalizing on resources, regionalization opportunities and strategic planning.  

All budgets, finances and reporting are managed through the Corporate Services department.  The Finance Department provides services for the following:

- Taxation and Property Assessment
- Accounts receivable and payables
- Budget and financial reporting, as per the Municipal Government Act.
- Business licensing
- Dog licensing
- Utilities

In early September, Administration begins gathering information and developing budgets. Budgets facilitate the municipal government’s integration of financial decisions regarding all municipal activities. Taxes collected in spring for necessities and services are dictated by the information outlined in the budget.
